YEA Guild

The YEA Guild was formed in 2002 to formalize the volunteer corps that has been supporting YEA and the ensemble for more than a decade. Without the incredible effort of our volunteers, many of YEA’s programs would not be possible. The Guild is formed into functional committees dealing with hospitality, fundraising, audience development, merchandise and production. These committees are headed by volunteers from the Guild, who work with the Guild’s coordinator and alumni parent, Sylvia Towers.

Guild membership is open to parents, family, friends, and supporters of YEA. If you are interested in joining the Guild, please sign up on our mailing list and indicate your interest. Someone will contact you to determine your interest areas and get you started as a volunteer. We use volunteers from the Guild for a number of projects, including ushering, office work, flyer distribution, building and landscaping projects, and production needs.


Guild Committee Descriptions

Production Committee
Facilitates the needs of the technical side of the theatre. Areas of support include building and striking of the production sets, painting, lights, sound, running crew, maintenance of costumes and props.

Audience Development Committee
Supports the administrative staff by helping to sell tickets and build the YEA mailing list for groups and individuals. This committee will also be responsible for distributing posters and flyers within the community.

Hospitality Committee
Ensures that YEA takes care of those important things that sometimes get overlooked due to the lack of time, including sending cards to the sick, acknowledging our graduates; flowers for opening night and coordination of snacks/meals for the Ensemble during long rehearsals; helping with opening night or special events.

Merchandising Committee
This committee is responsible for the ordering and the selling of YEA merchandise (t-shirts, caps, bags, CDs, DVDs, etc.) to Ensemble members and patrons at productions and special events.

Fundraising Committee
This committee is responsible for coordinating fundraisers to raise funds to assist with the general projects and/or operations of the Guild.
